The UCI addresses various cycling enthusiasts to use bicycles to improve life (health) and promote sustainability. It creates a better you and a better world.
How can Drenthe present itself even better as a cycling province?
Drenthe should start working on iconic projects. These include the VAM-berg and the connections between the MTB routes. But also think about wider cycle paths and better trails for e-bikes.
How can the bike strengthen tourism and visits to Drenthe?
Further development of the cycle path network and MTB trails at the historic sites. For mountain bikers it then becomes more attractive to take a lunch break, for example. This is how cycling can be linked to tourism.
What role does the UCI Bike Region label play in profiling itself as a cycling province?
This shows that consideration is being given to cycling in general and to the health of the inhabitants.
What are the highlights of the cycling province of Drenthe for you?
The beautiful landscapes with historical values, such as the dolmens and the villages.
What are your ambitions for Drenthe as a cycling province and how do you contribute to this?
The creation of an extensive network of MTB trails around Drenthe, with connections to the neighbouring provinces.
